Special election for District 2 Northwest Fresno coming soon: Tuesday, August 13th

Well the sprint is now officially on for the vacant District 2 seat on the Fresno City Council and the special election is only 12 days away. Several candidates are vying for the seat and all eyes will be on the District 2 ballots. District 2 generally services Northwest Fresno and includes Bullard High School and Fig Garden Village. I’m voting for life long resident and 20-year business owner Michael Karbassi.

Someone will need to snag 51% of the vote in order to take the seat out right. They will finish the remainder of the term ending in November 2020. If no one secures 51% then the two top vote getters will have a run off election in November at the end of this calendar year. This seat became open back in June when Steve Brandau was successful in his bid for a seat on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.

If you would like to know more about Michael Karbassi and his campaign you can do so at his official website after the jump.
