Planet Fitness saving trees

Planet Fitness was running a super special for one year of membership in honor of the new year over the weekend and I joined.  I just couldn’t pass up a whole year for only $99.  You had to pay in advance to get the special but it was well worth it in my opinion.  I visited the facility on Barstow and First and I was very, very impressed.  It’s super big, has plenty of machines, and plenty of televisions that you can access with your headphones from all of the cardio machines.  This is a relatively new gym for Planet Fitness and all the machines and weight stations are brand new.  If you are looking for a new workout spot you might want to give this location a look.

Being an out gay man and a liberal Democrat I was super stoked to see Planet Fitness going green!  They got rid of paper towels in the bathrooms in lieu of high energy efficient hand dryers.  That is so freaking cool.  I love the conservation 411 on the drying unit as well:  One ton of paper consumes 17 trees, 3 cubic yards of landfill space and pollutes 20,000 gallons of water.  Kudos to Planet Fitness for looking out for the environment and taking concrete steps to minimize our foot print on the planet.
